An idea born of necessity...

While traveling internationally for four months in 2006 Joy and Greg Fuhrman found that traveling lightly and doing laundry frequently was a necessity. Upon their return to the United States in 2007, Joy and Greg moved from Los Angeles, California to Fort Collins, Colorado, where they purchased their first Laundromat – North College Laundry, located on North College Avenue at Willox. The store has since been revamped and several new high-speed, large capacity washers have been added to service our customers with small and large loads.

Since purchasing North College Laundry, Greg and Joy continued to develop their concept of a completely new and improved laundry for the 21st century—catering to college students and busy professionals who have limited time to do laundry. Their vision was to combine the highest-quality, most efficient laundry equipment in a comfortable, café inspired environment that provided first-class amenities including free wireless Internet, big-screen televisions and Starbucks coffee. This vision was realized when the Washouse opened in Fort Collins, Colorado in December 2008.

The Washouse is the first test store in the United States to operate Speed Queen® new generation Quantum equipment. The Quantum high-extract washing machines will clean your laundry items better, by using less water and spinning faster than other washers, which will shorten drying time.
